Nicole Honiss | Director

Nicole strongly believes that every child deserves the best care and education possible. She endeavours to ensure that each child is given the opportunity to reach their full potential while having fun learning in a safe and stimulating environment.
Carolyn Curgenven | Centre Manager
Hello, my name is Carolyn and I am very excited about leading the teaching team at Little Sparrows. I have been devoted to early childhood education for over 20 years. I started out as a Nanny, training through the Ashton Warner Nanny Academy.
I went on to have my own children and became a Home Based Educator until my youngest son started school. I then began working as a student teacher in an Early Learning Centre where I upgraded my Nanny Diploma to a Diploma of Teaching. I have since worked in several different teaching and supervisory roles in New Zealand and Australia and have also upgraded my Teaching Diploma to a Teaching Degree.
I thoroughly enjoy working alongside children. I love the fact that children are unpredictable and often underestimated; that is what makes my chosen career so exciting! I also enjoy working as a mentor for student teachers. This helps me to stay up-to-date with current research and prompts me to continually reflect on my own teaching practice.
I love life and try to make the most of every moment both at work and at home. Time is so precious and I enjoy spending as much time with close friends and family as I possibly can. I have a great sense of humour and could not get through the day without a few good laughs. Please feel free to approach me about anything at all. I look forward to getting to know all the children and their families at Little Sparrows.

Ashlee Vant Leven | Teacher
Ashlee is a qualified early childhood teacher in her 4th year of teaching. Ashlee has had experience working with mixed age groups and preschool settings. A highlight for Ashlee has been travelling overseas to the UK and Europe. Travelling abroad has given Ashlee a deep appreciation of a diverse range of cultures, and she has recognised the importance of good quality early childhood education.
Ashlee’s initial interest in teaching children developed when she worked as a swimming teacher during high school and continued over the years as she was involved in surf lifesaving. Ashlee loves to set up physical challenges for the children allowing them to explore their sense of self awareness. Ashlee makes the effort to get to know each individual child and caters her teaching style to create individual learning goals specific to that child. Ashlee ensures all children reach a personal feeling of success. Ashlee’s love of sport is evident in the physical activities she promotes. Children are naturally drawn to her and she quickly develops lasting relationships with them and their families.
We are very excited to have Ashlee join our teaching team.
